Substitute Adult Day Training (ADT) Instructor

Salary will be between $18.00 to $20.00 per hour (and based on experience)

As-Needed position to fill in during staff absence, vacations, and in times of high client census.

Our program hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday

We are currently seeking a dynamic Substitute ADT Instructor for our Adult Day Training (ADT) program in Naples, Florida. The Substitute ADT Instructor is responsible for providing training, support, and assistance to our program participants.

The Substitute ADT Instructor will plan and implement a variety of daily enrichment activities that promote independence, community inclusion, job training, vocational skill acquisition, and peer socialization, while enhancing personal life skill development and self-advocacy skills. Our program participants gain real world experiences daily that focus on life, employability, and community skills.

A snapshot of what you will be doing:

  • Provide instruction to prepare consumers for life skills and basic vocational training opportunities in the center and in the community
  • Maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the physical, social, and emotional development of consumers
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom and in the community
  • Use technologies in the teaching/learning process
  • Present a positive role model for consumers

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED with at least one year of experience working with people with disabilities
  • Experience working with persons with disabilities on job skills training self-advocacy training, or daily living skills training, as well as assisting with personal needs such as monitoring behaviors
  • CPR and First Aid Certification
