Activities Assistant - Day Break, Winter Park

Salary will be between $15.00 to $16.00 per hour, based on experience

Full-Time position working between 30 to 37.50 hours per week, plus full-time benefits

Easterseals Florida is looking for a compassionate, detail-oriented, and creative individual to join our team as an Activities Assistant at Day Break, our adult day health care center in Winter Park. This role supports adults (18 and older) with disabilities, including those with dementia and related disorders.

As an Activities Assistant, you will work closely with the Activities Director to deliver engaging recreational, therapeutic, and social activities. Your role is vital in promoting active participation, enhancing the leisure experiences of our clients, and helping them achieve their highest level of independence. Additionally, you will provide essential personal care to clients, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.

A snapshot of what you'll do:

  • Assist in developing the monthly calendar of activities
  • Assist with planning and participating in community outings and special activities
  • Provide quality recreational, therapeutic, social, and informative activities
  • Provide a safe, stimulating, and fun-filled day
  • Motivate clients and promote client interaction
  • Provide personal care to clients, assisting with daily living activities (toileting, bathing, ambulating, transfers, feeding, and changing of clothes)

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required, and at least one year of experience providing care to persons with disabilities, dementia or other memory related disorders
  • An energetic creative and professional individual who will portray and promote a positive, respectful, and team-based environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours when needed to meet the needs of the program
