Salary will be between $15.00 per hour. Full-time position working 30 hours per week (plus insurance and time off benefits)

About the Position:

Easterseals Florida is seeking an organized, and detail-oriented individual for the position of Program Assistant for Camp Challenge in Sorrento, Florida.  The Program Assistant will provide program administrative support for Camp Challenge, our camp for adults and children with disabilities and special needs.  The position requires a high volume of family and customer contact, speaking with families on a regular basis regarding their needs, including sensitive topics of financial assistance and level of care. The Program Assistant is responsible camper enrollment, purchase and supply orders, receipting, banking, and general office administration.  Additionally, the Program Assistant will assist in negotiating contracts and preparing for site rental of camp.  The Program Assistant will be part of a team where independence, creativity and strong organizational skills are valued and required.  We need someone who can keep up and who is willing to wear a variety of hats!

Qualifications:

  • One-year certificate from a college or technical school with at least six months of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Outstanding computer skills using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to meet our approved driver qualifications in order to drive your personal vehicle as required to drive for program related business
  • An energetic creative and professional individual who will portray and promote a positive, respectful, and team-based environment
  • Excellent phone skills, customer service skills and problem solving skills
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Adobe, Database)
  • Ability to multi-task and work within time constraints
  • Ability to work flexible hours when needed to meet the needs of the program.  This position requires the ability to work on both Saturdays and Sundays during summer camp season (June and July) and a few weekends throughout the year for weekend camp sessions
