Assistant Child Development Center Director

Full-time position (37.5 hours per week) plus insurance and time off benefits

Are you looking for a Great Place to Work?  Easterseals Florida, rated 2020 Great Place to Work by our staff, is seeking a motivated, energetic and professional Assistant Center Director for our Tampa child development program.  The Assistant Center Director plays a vital role in motivating and leading a team of early childhood professionals. 

Reporting to the Center Director, the Assistant Center Director is expected to assist in providing and maintaining a safe, nurturing and developmentally appropriate program in accordance with all relevant childcare policies and procedures, as well as with licensing and accrediting agency regulations.  Additionally, the Assistant Center Director is expected to provide classroom coverage as needed.  Exceptional problem solving, leadership and communication skills are key to success in this role.

What we value:

  • A minimum of an Associate's degree in early childhood education or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Successful completion of the Florida Department of Children & Families 45 hour Child Care Training
  • Florida Director's Credential preferred
  • Knowledge of Hillsborough County Child Care Licensing Requirements
  • Knowledge of Head Start Requirements a plus
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage staff
  • An energetic, engaging, creative, and professional individual who is passionate about working with children with disabilities and special needs and seeing them achieve their developmental milestones
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification
  • Ability to work flexible hours when needed to meet the needs of the program
  • Ability to meet our approved driver requirements to be able to drive for program needs
