Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Substitute

$12.00 per hour

We are looking for a dynamic and compassionate individual to work on an as-needed basis as a Substitute Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in our Winter Park adult day health care center, which serves adults with disabilities, dementia related disorders or other memory impairment conditions.  The Certified Nursing Assistant provides our members a safe, stimulating and fun-filled day by assisting in facilitating recreational and social activities daily, as well as nursing assistance and personal care. 

The Substitute Certified Nursing Assistant may know ahead of time when they are needed, or they may be called at a moment's notice.  The hours for substitutes will vary, so these positions are ideal for individuals currently with other part-time positions, college students, or those wanting to work on a limited basis.  Our normal hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 5:30 pm.

What you'll be doing:

  • Interacting and developing positive and professional relationships with members, their families or caregivers on a daily basis
  • Monitoring and observing members daily, documenting observations and changes and preparing daily reports on each member to include vitals, intake, output, and personal care
  • Assisting members with activities of daily living which include toileting, bathing, ambulating, transferring, feeding and changing clothes when needed
  • Assisting with meal preparation and serving snacks and meals
  • Facilitating a safe working environment by performing routine housekeeping duties, reporting potential hazards and consistently maintaining the program in a safe and clean manner
  • Assisting with program activities, prompting and assisting the members in participation

What we value:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of experience providing care to persons with disabilities, dementia or other memory related disorders
  • Current Certified Nursing Assistant License
  • Current CPR/First Aid Certification
  • An energetic creative and professional individual who will portray and promote a positive, respectful, and team-based environment
  • Ability to work flexible hours when needed to meet the needs of the program
