Salary is $13.00 per hour, 16 hours per week

About the position:

We have an immediate opening for a part-time Maintenance Specialist (16 hours per week) at Camp Challenge in Sorrento, FL.  The Maintenance Specialist is responsible for keeping the camp clean and orderly. In addition, the Maintenance Specialist is responsible for all aspects of janitorial, housekeeping, and general maintenance within the facilities and campgrounds to ensure a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment. 

The work schedule for this part-time position is very flexible.  You can choose your workdays.  It can be two eight-hour days or another combination.

Responsibilities include:

• Janitorial services such as cleaning, sweeping, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and waxing floors; cleaning toilet facilities and keeping restrooms supplied with towels, soap, and other items; collecting and disposing of trash from waste bins; changing light bulbs
• Solve general maintenance problems and make repairs to buildings, grounds or equipment as needed
• General maintenance and repairs such as painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, etc. (may include operating power tools and maintenance equipment)
• Assisting with farm stall clean-up and maintenance
• Helping with set-up for and clean-up after camping sessions, rental groups, and events
• Adhering to safety policies and protocols

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED and six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination or education and experience
• Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds
• Dependable, trustworthy and able to stay on task with minimal supervision
• Flexible with working hours
• Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems (HVAC a plus)
• Experience using hand and power tools; painting (interior and exterior)
• Ability to read manuals and drawings and document repairs
• Very good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to meet Easterseals Florida Approved Driver Requirements
