About the Position:

We are currently seeking a compassionate, professional and dynamic Registered Nurse to join our team on an on-call basis as a nurse supervisor and substitute nurse for our Adult Day Healthcare program in Winter Park, Florida.  The Registered Nurse will oversee clinical services, ensuring the highest standard of services, and ensuring compliance with program requirements. The Registered Nurse will also fill in as a substitute nurse performing all health monitoring and nursing services for participants in the program as needed.

This is an as-needed position and perfect for a Registered Nurse interested in working an occasional basis to supplement their income.

A Snapshot of What You Will Do:

  • Monitor nursing and caregiving staff
  • Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and submitted timely 
  • Provide educational training/presentations at least once per month to staff, clients and care partners
  • Work in conjunction with the LPN ensuring client charts, MARS, care plans, and documentation are current and correct
  • Conduct periodic inspections and audits of site infirmary and charts

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Current Florida Registered Nurse License
  • At least one year of experience working with individuals with disabilities and special needs and/or the aging population and Alzheimer's patients.  
  • Ability to work with challenging behaviors expressed by participants (i.e. potential verbal and physical aggression, wandering, inappropriateness, inability to follow directions, resistance to care, etc)
  • Ability to assist with the transfer of participants to and from chair or wheelchair and assist clients with activities of daily living (toileting, bathing, ambulating, feeding, changing clothes, etc)
  • CPR Certification
  • First Aid Certification
  • Alzheimer's Disease or Related Disorders Training
