Spanish Translator

Pay rate will be between $17.00 per hour to $19.00 per hour (and based on experience)

Full-time position working 37.5 hours per week

Easterseals Florida is looking for Translators for our Early Intervention Assessment Team in West Palm Beach to serve as the communications bridge between families/caregivers with limited English proficiency and the respective team members providing services both at the center and offsite locations. The qualified candidate will accurately complete written translation of documents from English to Spanish (and Spanish to English) for families.

A Snapshot of What You Will Do:

  • Greet parents and serve as liaison between parents and the program
  • Assist families with concerns prior to determining eligibility for the Early Steps program
  • Interpret spoken statements from Spanish to English and English to Spanish
  • Translate documents and rewrite material, correspondence, forms, and other written material from Spanish to English and English to Spanish.
  • Perform general office duties
  • Travel to offsite locations as required for meetings with team members and families

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of experience in translation and interpretation of English
  • Bilingual skills - Spanish/English
  • Detailed oral and written communications skills required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and database software
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and professional phone skills
  • Significant attention to detail, superior organizational and writing skills and the ability to work quickly and efficiently
  • Detail-oriented self-starter who can efficiently handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Ability to meet our approved driver qualifications in order to drive your personal vehicle, as required, to drive to meetings and for other business-related needs (minimum age of 21 and good driving history)
