Salary will be between $40,000 to $43,000 (based on experience)

About the Position:

Easterseals Florida is seeking a dynamic, organized, and detail-oriented individual for the position of Special Events/Fundraising Manager in Tampa, Florida.  In this position, you will plan, promote, execute, and meet assigned fundraising goals for special events in Tampa, and work with the Senior Director of Development to implement and achieve fundraising goals. You are responsible for planning and executing a variety of events designed to engage the local community while raising funds to support Easterseals Florida's mission.

To be qualified for the position, you must be able to demonstrate an understanding of fundraising and the donor development cycle, make and maintain relationships within the community, and demonstrate solid follow-up and donor stewardship skills. You must have a proven ability to meet tight deadlines and communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management, as well as being a quick and productive multitasker. You must be highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent project and time management skills. This position requires tremendous accuracy, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to effectively prioritize and juggle multiple projects. This position also supervises the Development Assistant position.  Typical work schedule is daytime from Monday through Friday, but some evenings and/or weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; and one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • An understanding of the importance of fundraising and how events relate to organizational fundraising goals
  • Experience soliciting businesses, local community leaders, and appropriate individuals for sponsorship opportunities, financial support, and in-kind items
  • The ability to effectively communicate the Easterseals mission and vision while persuading others to support the cause
  • Excellent interpersonal and public relations skills; professional communication skills, including excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail, superior organizational and writing skills and the ability to work quickly and efficiently.
  • Self-starter who can efficiently handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, donor database software (Donor Perfect preferred), peer to peer fundraising or auction software (Qgiv, Qtego, Bid Pal preferred)
  • Self-starter who can efficiently handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Dynamic leader who can lead, supervise, develop and inspire team members
  • Available for evening and weekend events and activities
  • Due to the need to drive for the organization to pick up/deliver event materials, attend events and for other development needs, you must be at least 21 years old and have reliable transportation
