Play Project Coordinator (Early Intervention - Autism)

Salary will be $48,750 per year (plus insurance and time off benefits)

Easterseals Florida is seeking a dynamic individual for our PLAY Project Program Coordinator position in Hillsborough County Florida.  The PLAY Project program serves families who have children (or highly suspect) with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) who are in need of early intervention therapy.  The coordinator will be responsible for managing, supervising and implementing the day-to-day operations of the program to ensure the completion, compliance and overall successful achievement of grant deliverables.  This position will provide direct PLAY intervention services to grant recipients, generating billable service units to this contract.  This position will be starting in July 2022.

A Snapshot of What You Will Be Doing:

  • Ensure compliance with clinical documentation and all contract requirements including program performance data, reports, and documentation as required.
  • Evaluating and updating the PLAY Project Program and making adjustments to ensure obstacles are eliminated and outcomes are achieved
  • Attend community meetings, become an active participant in events and committees within the sector, building strong relationships with key countywide partners
  • Ensure PLAY Project staff and independent contractors are coordinating and collaborating with local community programs, medical offices, childcare centers and schools to obtain referrals for children and their families
  • Identify and build effective solutions with each PLAY Project Consultant to eliminate barriers such as transportation, rural isolation, literacy, childcare needs, etc. by working with existing partners within the community
  • Supervise, develop and support staff to oversee and implement the direct therapy service of the PLAY Project program

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in early childhood special education, early child development, licensed therapist, Infant Toddler Developmental Specialist (ITDS) certification, or a related field
  • Minimum of one-year direct hands-on work experience with young children and their families
  • Experience (formal training and hands on) working with children with developmental delays and/or early intervention.
  • One-year managerial experience in staff oversight and leadership
  • Program operations/business development experience preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, problem-solving skills and solution-focused behavior
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and report statistically meaningful quality and utilization data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills, to include diplomatically addressing difficult situations and people (clients and staff alike), providing constructive feedback, and earning the respect of physicians, nurses, therapists and other personnel
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish, English/Creole) preferred
  • Ability to become PLAY Project certified within 3 months of hire
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Adobe, and database programs
  • Ability to work independently and effectively with minimal on-site supervision
  • Ability to meet Easterseals Florida Approved Driver requirements to travel to community meetings and to clients' homes
